• Co-Ed Youth Basketball Leagues - Registration has been extended for the Oak Lawn Park District’s Co-Ed Youth Basketball Leagues. Leagues are open to girls and boys ages 5 – 8. This program offers instruction, as well as competitive basketball games. Team play and sportsmanship will be stressed. Age divisions are as of September 1, 2011. Teams will practice in December and league play will begin in January. Fee is $79 for Oak Lawn residents and $105 for non-residents. Registration deadline is November 25.

• Family Fun Night at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena – Bring the whole family out to the Oak Lawn Park District’s Ice Arena (9320 S. Kenton) on Sunday, November 27 from 3-6 pm. Enjoy a family open skate, music provided by CMT Productions D.J. Service and a competitive skating exhibition. Staff will be on hand to help you enjoy the lifetime sport of ice-skating. • Christmas Through The Years At White Fence Farms – Join the Oak Lawn Park District for an afternoon at White Fence Farms in Romeoville on Thursday, December 8. Take a holiday journey from the 1900’s to present day with the Mestas family. They will perform songs from the different eras, tell heartwarming stories, all while wearing costumes to match! Lunch will include chicken, cole slaw, kidney bean salad, pickled beets, baked potato, homemade chicken gravy, choice of beverage and vanilla ice cream for dessert. The motor coach bus will depart the Community Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave., at 11 am and return at 4 pm. Fee for this trip is $65 for Oak Lawn residents and $75 non-residents. • New Year’s Eve Comedy Night - The Oak Lawn Park District’s Stony Creek Clubhouse is hosting a 21 and over Comedy Night on New Year’s Eve, Saturday, December 31, 2011. Doors open at 7:30 pm with dinner at 8 pm and entertainment beginning at 9:30 pm. There will be a champagne toast at midnight. Admission for the show is $20 at the door. Dinner is available for $11, with your choice of steak or chicken. Dinner reservation deadline is December 27. There will also be a cash bar and appetizer menu available during the show. • Casting Call: Sweeney Todd - The Oak Lawn Park District Theatre group has announced a casting call for its upcoming production of Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Auditions will be held Sunday, January 8 from 6-9:30 pm and Monday, January 9 from 7:30-10:30 pm. All those auditioning must be prepared to sing a song from the show and come dressed in proper attire. Auditions will be held at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th Street and are open to those ages 16 & older. Sweeney Todd will run for two consecutive weekends, March 16-18 & March 23-25. Tickets for this production are available at the Oak View Center. Prices are $21 for adult and $20 for seniors (60 & up) and children (12 & under). • Woodfield Mall & IKEA Trip – Join the Oak Lawn Park District as we head back to the original IKEA and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg on Friday, January 20. Enjoy a day of shopping at this 3-story mall and then hop onboard the free trolley and head to the other exciting stores on the way over to IKEA. Lunch is on your own. The motor coach bus will depart the Community Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave., at 9 am and return at 5 pm. Fee for this trip is $25 for Oak Lawn residents and $35 non-residents. • Dog Park Memberships - Memberships are available for purchase now at the Community Pavilion & the Oak View Center. Fee is per family, not per dog (up to three dogs per membership). Forms can be downloaded at http://www.olparks.com/parks

• Before & After School With FLASH – FLASH, Fun & Learning After School Hours - Register now for the 2011/2012 school year. The Oak Lawn Park District has partnered up with School District 123 and is in all 5 elementary schools, Covington, Hannum, Hometown, Kolmar, & Sward. The park district has also partnered up with School District 122 and their 4 elementary schools, Columbus Manor, Harnew, Kolb, & Lieb. • Community Pavilion Main Arena Rental - Attention high schools, colleges and businesses: Have your special event with us! The Oak Lawn Park District’s Community Pavilion is available for rentals. The arena measures 28,000 sq. ft. and can seat up to 1,000 people at tables and chairs, or 3,500 with chairs only. Reservations must be made at least six months in advance with 50% down. Payment is non-refundable after 90 days. Contact the assistant manager at (708) 857-2420 or pavilion@olparks.com.


• Indoor Playground at the Community Pavilion - The indoor playground is available for parties: Playground rental is $45 per hour with a max of 25 children. Rental includes tables and chairs. Renter is responsible for all party decorations and refreshments (no confetti please). Add a basketball court for $20 per hour for residents and $40 per hour for non-residents. • Massage Therapy at the Community Pavilion - Sandra Coffey is available by appointment only. Massage therapy is used to reduce stress, increase circulation and detoxify overexerted muscles.
