• Youth Flag Football League —The Oak Lawn Park is still taking registrations for the new Flag Football League for boys and girls in 3rd & 4th grade. This is a recreational league designed to teach kids the fundamentals of football in a non-contact and fun environment. There will be no standings or playoffs in this league. Each child will receive a t-shirt and a participation trophy. Games will be played at Keeler Park, 93rd St. and Keeler Ave. Fee for this league is $55 for Oak Lawn residents and $75 for non-residents. • George Shimko Basketball School Shooting Session —The Oak Lawn Park is offering another session he George Shimko Basketball School Shooting Session beginning Thursday, September 10. This program is geared for those ages 5-9, and is designed to teach players the proper way to shoot the basketball. Each player will be taught how to shoot the basketball from various locations on the basketball court with good balance, rotation and confidence. Classes will meet Thursday evenings from 4:30-6pm at the Community Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave. Fee for this session is $66 for Oak Lawn residents and $81 for non-residents, and includes instruction and GSBS Stars Basketball t-shirt. • Fall Indoor Volleyball Leagues —The Oak Lawn Park District is taking team registrations for the Co-Rec and Women’s Indoor Volleyball Leagues. The Co-Rec League will begin play on Tuesday, October 6. The Women’s League will begin play on Thursday, October 1. All games are played at the Community Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave. Each team will participate in round-robin play with game times varying each week. Team fee is $325. Registration deadline is September 29. • Men’s Indoor Basketball Leagues — The Oak Lawn Park District is taking team registrations for their Men’s Indoor Basketball League. Games will be played at the Community Pavilion, 9401 S. Oak Park Ave., beginning Thursday, October 8. Game times will vary each week. The 1st through 4th place teams from each league will qualify for the playoffs. All teams are required to submit their name and jersey color at registration. Team fee is $500. The registration fee must be paid in full, no exceptions. Registration is taken at the Pavilion only. • Before & After School With FLASH – Registration is under way for the new before and after school program created by School District 123 & the Oak Lawn Park District - FLASH. Flash is dedicated to providing safe, healthy, fun and recreational opportunities to all children during the program. The program will begin August 25, 2009. • Casting Call: The Producers auditions to be held in Oak Lawn - The Oak Lawn Park District Theatre group has announced a casting call for its upcoming production of The Producers. Auditions will be held Sunday, September 13 from 1 – 5 pm and Monday, September 14 at 7:30pm. Come in proper attire and be prepared to sing a song from the show. Auditions will be held at the Oak View Center, 4625 W. 110th Street and are open to those in high school (with proper ID) & older. The Producers will run for two consecutive weekends, November 13 – 15 and November 20 – 22.

• Preschool Registration - Registration is underway for the Oak Lawn Park District’s 2009/2010 preschool programs. The park district offers affordable, quality preschool classes for 3- to 5-year-olds. The preschool programs—Learn As You Grow I, Learn As You Grow II, Play School and Prep School—are offered at the Oak View Center (4625 W. 110th St.) and the Little White Building in Lake Shore Park (96th Street and East Shore Drive) and are taught by qualified instructors. Fee for preschool programs for 3 year olds is $670 Oak Lawn residents and $752 for non-residents. Fee for preschool programs for 4 year olds is $1000 Oak Lawn residents and $1124 for non-residents. • Youth Indoor Soccer Draft League - The Oak Lawn Park District is taking registrations for the Youth Indoor Soccer Draft League. This league is open to girls and boys ages 6-13. Teams will begin practicing December 12 and games will begin in January. Game times will vary. Age divisions are determined by the child’s age as of September 1, 2009. Early Bird registration runs through November 14. Early Bird fee is $69 for Oak Lawn residents and $95 for non-residents. General Registration runs November 15 – 21. General Registration fee is $79 for Oak Lawn residents and $105 for non-residents. Late fees apply after November 22. Late registration fee is $89 for Oak Lawn residents and $115 for non-residents.
